So here's the situation. The classes plugin does not have a set time of release due to IRL complications. So we essentially have 3 options and they are as follows:
Option 1: Wait for classes
This could be any amount of time as we have no idea when these are estimated to be released.
Option 2: We release with No classes
No my favorite option, but we basically release with no classes, have a wide variety of weapons and boss loot available and just add classes when they are ready
Option 3: Create your own classes
A pretty fun idea, but it may take some time to properly execute and balance. Essentially, there are pieces of loot that have a skill or stat associated with them and you design your own class based on this loadout.
Example (Made these up on the spot):
- Leather Helmet of Leaping: Wearing on the head slot allows a slight increase to jump height
- Iron Chestplate of Toughness: Wearing on the chest slot allows a slight decrease to damage taken with a decrease to movement speed as well
- Iron Pants of Explosions: Getting damaged while wearing these has a chance of causing an explosion (damaging both you and the players around you)
- Gold Boots of the Flame: On getting damaged, flames have a chance of spawning around you
- Diamond Sword of Haste: On right click, you get 2x speed for 10 seconds
These are just examples and may not end up in the game if we go through with this. This would require balancing frequently, but would be a fun method of gameplay and would allow you to create your own class loadout. We would do this in a way such that basic items are plentiful (basic skills such as haste/bandage/etc...) but more complicated skills are rare and obtainable through boss drops/mob drops and other means.
Let me know what you all think. I'll gladly embrace any of these options if it's what the community prefers. As far as the fancy weapons and whatnot goes, even if we have classes, these will be available to an extent, but will not be as crazy with the skills involved.
